Link Scholars Chicago TACO Event

Donation protected
Sabah has decided to launch Link Scholars, an initiative committed to ease 8th and 9th graders transition into high school. Link Scholars will host monthly workshops which will allow mentees to not only expand their knowledge of companies and programs looking for interns and applicants, but also network with professionals of various fields, both of which will make Link Scholars mentees competitive applicants for college and their future endeavors.

Although access to education is guaranteed to students all over the United States, there are few programs dedicated to nurturing and helping these marginalized students gain access to a powerful network which  pairs them up with opportunities and enrichment.

Link Scholars will not only enhance students' horizons but also foster unprecedented love for their respective passion or interest.

Link Scholars exists to serve one paramount purpose: to link students with opportunities.

Link Scholars vision: to provide underrepresented middle schools students the opportunity to get a head start in high school, inherit the tools to achieve success and thrive academically, assist students in enrolling in academic programs/organizations, and create a network of mentors who will actively guide the students through  their first year of highschool.

Starting an organization comes with a huge price tag:  time, energy, and financing. All the money donated will go into several expenses relating to organizing “Link” events, branding “Link” and purchasing supplies for future scholars. This includes providing the scholars with T-shirts, renting venues to hold workshops, and covering food costs.

Sabah is establishing this organization in Chicago. Her goal is to raise $1,000.  In a collaboration with TACO, Sabah recieved proceeds from a concert to go towards her initiative.

Please consider donating as much as you possibly can (as small as the contribution may be) to Link Scholars, an initiative completely led by a female high-school student with not a penny in her name, but enough passion to impact inner-city kids.
