Support Linea Directa
We advocate, we educate, we are a direct link to an underserved community. For nearly three decades, I have had the honor of producing the public service program, Línea Directa, the first local series ever broadcast on Spanish-Language television in the Washington metropolitan area.
Since the creation of Línea Directa in 1990, the relentless mission of the program has been to help improve the lives of Latino families through media. We strive to communicate messages that can lead to positive social change, and that highlight the contributions of Latino communities in the United States. We are broadcast by the local Telemundo station, and focus on issues that have a direct impact on the lives of our viewers -- health, education, culture and identity, immigration, and civil rights. We are also proud to be one of the nation’s first Latino nonprofit dual-language news organizations.
At a crucial time in the history of the Latino community in the United Sates, Línea Directa is being challenged by a major budget shortfall that threatens our ability to produce the program, and continue our public service work. This is why we need your help, and why I am asking you to please make a tax-deductible donation to Línea Directa through the Go Fund Me page.
As an immigrant myself, I know firsthand the transformational power of media. And our viewers remind us through their constant feedback how a TV show -- in language and in culture -- can make the difference in their lives.

Your tax-deductible donation will make a significant difference to the continued production of Línea Directa, and we are extremely grateful for your support.
