Thankfully Lindsey has recently been brought out of the induced coma and is now considered critically stable. She continues to be in the intensive care unit and is fighting every day. She has a long journey ahead of her that will include more surgeries, months of rehabilitation, and adjusting to a new way of life for her, Mike, and sweet Myles. Lindsey and Mike will face many unexpected costs associated with her recovery and we hope to raise whatever we can to help this new family of three make the healing journey that they are about to embark on a tiny bit easier. We are thankful every day that Lindsey is still here and we look forward to the day she can head home to be with both her boys.
On behalf of our whole family, thank you,
Thank you everyone, we truly appreciate all of the support over the last few months; words cannot express how humbled we are. Because of your kindness, we felt the need to provide an update on how we are doing.
Our now 3 month old is happy and healthy, and growing and learning everyday. We couldn’t be more lucky to have him in our lives. With every day that passes, he and Dad look forward to the day when Mommy comes home; whenever that may be.
We’re finally confident in saying the recovery phase has started. To date Lindsey has undergone 14 surgeries along with numerous other medical procedures including dialysis, hyperbaric oxygen treatment and the amputation of her hands. In the near future, sadly, a portion of each leg will be amputated as well.
We continue to remain positive and thankful for this opportunity to fight for our family. Myles has provided us with drive needed to return home as soon as possible.
We thank you all for your generosity, prayers and well-wishes.
Lindsey, Mike and Myles
I'm so sorry to hear everything she is going through. Please tell her she is not alone. Our stories are very simar. I know I'm a complete stranger, but I m here for support anytime. I'm so very sorry your family is going through this. http://www.sepsis.org/faces/samantha-nicoll/
Dear Lindsey. My name is Paola Chávez I live in Barcelona and got a 4 1/2 year old son. When he was born I got a "sepsis postparto from a pyogenes streptococo" . I spend 60 days at hospital and 25 on an induced coma. ... unfortunatelly you know what I am talking about. Even I know what that is I cant imagine how hard is this situation for you. You are a brave and strong woman. Trust on you, your body and your self when the bad times come. You and your body already know how to do it. You and your family are on my toughts and prays. .
I was so sorry to hear this story. If you need help in court, I am willing to come forward. I didn't have anything close to this but went in for a routine surgery. Everything that could go wrong, went wrong. I wish I had sued but I didn't know how to go about it. Now, that my life has changed because of that botched surgery & infection , I should have done something. Please be in touch if you need to prove neglect. I will help you. Sending you love for you and your family from a stranger.
This is really awful. Please stay strong. I hope you win the lawsuit and expose the substandard healthcare people receive in this country. It is horrible and this should have never happened to you. Glad you are both alive! Keep fighting!!
God bless you all and many prayers of hope for your family!
Libby. So sorry to read about this Sending positive thoughts to you and yours Lois Pretty
