Lincoln’s Brain Balance Tuition

Hi friends and family. This is a new thing for me....to ask for help, but this is the only thing I can think of to do. Just know doing this tells you how desperate I am to get my son the help he needs.
We have 4 boys who we love so much. With this crazy bunch, we’ve always been told that it “takes a village to raise kids...especially boys”.
My second oldest, Lincoln, is a sweet quiet boy. For the past few years we have known that this sweet boy has been struggling in many ways. School has always been hard for him, he had a horrible experience with his 1st grade teacher. She eventually, at parent-teacher conference, told us that she can’t do anything to help him. She said to us, “I am at my wits end with Lincoln. The lightbulb is never on....I don’t even think he has a bulb”. That killed us and especially for Lincoln to hear his own teacher say. His self esteem plummeted and he never was the same since. Ever since, he’s been showing signs of depression and his interactions to others, kind of vanished. Even with family, it’s hard to get him to talk and interact. As his Mom, it’s been the hardest thing to deal with. To see him go a whole school year without even making one friend or even just participating in class. He really is the sweetest, most gentle kid. Seeing him struggle with everything, kills me. My Momma Bear wants to come out and make this struggle go away for him.
We’ve talked with therapists, teachers, doctors, and looked into this program. It worked wonders for our nephew who did this program years ago. So since this was our last ditch effort to try to get answers we called and got a consult with Brain Balance. Earlier last week, this group led Lincoln on an extensive evaluation, and today we met with the director to get the results. We were blown away by what we saw presented to us and were amazed at how hard Lincoln has to work each and every day to function at the level that he does. They said for how hard he has to get things done, that he is just always so fatigued. Because of that, it leads to his stomach, intestinal, and equilibrium problems. We also realized that because he has so much to overcome and that he does work so hard every waking moment to hold it all together, that his body is easily exhausted and quickly succumbs to frustration and anger. The left side of his brain is constantly overcompensating for his right side, which is weak. His intelligence carries him though the day as best it can.
After meeting with the director of this nationally recognized program, we feel that this is the best direction to proceed with Lincoln, in helping him be successful in life. Such a well-researched and proven program comes with a great cost. This is where we are reaching out to our “village”and asking for help. The amount we are needing for Lincoln to complete this program is $10, 500. We are setting up a “gofundme” account in the hope that this village will help us. There is nothing worse for a parent than knowing what your child needs to be successful and not being able to provide that for them. This is exactly where we are right now. We left the center today both inspired and hopeful that this would finally be the missing link that gets Lincoln the help he so desperately needs, and heartbroken, because we know that we don’t have the money to provide this for him right now.
We are reaching out to each and every one of you in the hopes that you will read these words and know that we are truly hopeful that Brain Balance will be able to provide what we have been searching for for nearly 4 years now – the ability to see Lincoln go from merely surviving to thriving. Please know that we appreciate each and every one of you from the bottom of our hearts and are more than willing to discuss any of this with you at any time. As we have been on this journey with Lincoln for several years now, we have met people who have very similar stories with their children, and it’s been a blessing for each of us to share what we have tried, who we have met with, what has worked and what hasn’t, etc. We know that our knowledge shouldn’t live just with us, but with the village that we surround ourselves with as well.
