The Lombard Lilac Festival Parade has been a Lombard tradition since 1930. For generations, the Lilac Parade has brought thousands of people together each year to celebrate Lilac Time in Lombard. The grand finale of Lilac Time, the Lilac Parade is undoubtedly one of the largest and best parades in the area.
The Lilac Parade Committee is a 100% volunteer not-for-profit organization established for the sole purpose of planning, organizing and running the Lilac Parade. This dedicated team of volunteers works hard each year to plan the event and raise funds to cover the annual costs of running the parade.
We need your support. The Village of Lombard annually provides a grant that covers the majority of the $40,000+ it costs to put on the parade each year. These costs include the expenses to bring in paid performers and parade units, insurance, barricades, and overtime costs for Police, Fire and Public Works personnel. Because the Village grant covers most, but not all of these event costs, donations and sponsorships from people like you are used to cover the remaining costs, making the event possible and keeping this annual tradition going.
