Lighting a Candle: Remembering the Sacrifices

That is why I am pulling my community of Iwuy together, here in France, on Christmas Eve to light a candle beside each grave in our Canadian cemetery. 

This shining candle serves to commemorate and remember those who had, numerous times, missed Christmas and missed time with their families.

These fathers, sons, and brothers will never return home so let’s create a reminder to demonstrate that they are forever not forgotten by lighting a candle. 

Each candle is $2.50 CAD each and we want to put one beside the 349 graves.
If you can only contribute one candle, that is one more hero that is able to have a little light this Christmas. 
Although the ceremony will take place Christmas Eve, you are able to donate until the beginning of January. 

This Christmas, please take the time to make a contribution to commemorate and remember why we are able to be with our families and friends this holiday season.

Grâce aux sacrifices de nos soldats canadiens il y a 100 ans, nous pouvons vivre dans la liberté et la paix.

C'est pourquoi je rassemble ma communauté d'Iwuy la veille de Noël, ici en France, pour allumer une bougie à côté de chaque tombe dans notre cimetière canadien.
Cette bougie brillante sert à commémorer et à rappeler ceux qui, à de nombreuses reprises, ont raté Noël et n'ont pas passé de temps avec leur famille.
Ces pères, fils et frères seront toujours absents, alors rappelons-nous leur sacrifice pour ne jamais oublier, allumons donc une bougie pour eux.

Chaque bougie coûte 2,50 $ et vous aimeriez en mettre une à côté des 200 tombes.
Si vous ne pouvez contribuer qu’à une seule bougie, c’est tout de même se souvenir d'un héros.
Bien que la cérémonie ait lieu la veille de Noël, vous pouvez faire un don jusque début janvier.

Ce Noël, prenez s'il vous plaît le temps de faire une contribution pour commémorer et rappelez-vous pourquoi nous pouvons être avec nos familles et amis cette saison de vacances.
