Labor Day Fireworks for Manhattan, Illinois are in jeopardy. A fireworks display has been a long-standing favorite Labor Day tradition. Over the years the fireworks have been provided by many different organizations. The Manhattan Chamber of Commerce stepped up to provide fireworks for the past two years, but their budget is unable to continue the festivities alone.
The $7,500 goal will provide the community with a great evening display that will be moved to Sunday, Sept. 2 to provide for family friendly viewing time.
The goal needs to be reached by August 15 in order to schedule the event.
Donors, over $250, will receive public recognition. If each household would contribute, the goal would be met.
Questions can be directed to Facebook.com/ManhattanChamber or to PO Box 357, Manhattan, IL 60442.
Please help spread this Go Fund Me event to other families and the community by Facebook or by word of mouth.
