Billy is my loving and beautiful only child. He is incredibly compassionate as well as talented and has everything to live for, and so much to give.

But, at the age of 18, as he was finishing his A-levels, Billy was diagnosed with Ewing’s Sarcoma, an aggressive and rare bone cancer.

In the three years since, Billy has not had a break and has been in constant treatment. He has endured countless rounds of gruelling chemotherapy, radiotherapy and has had 3 major surgeries, his femur and hip have been replaced by a titanium prosthetic and he has had a surgical procedure carried out on his left lung which has left him with continuous infections and breathing problems. The tumours in his lungs have continued to grow to the point where Billy now struggles desperately to get up the stairs in our house.
He has also lost a lot of weight recently as he has a tumour pressing on his wind pipe which makes it hard for him to swallow and also affects his breathing.
He has been in hospital more than he has been out and spent the entire Christmas and New Year seriously sick in hospital with lung problems related to the tumours.

Billy’s cancer has continued to grow despite standard chemotherapy and since August 2018 when we first set up this page his health has deteriorated.

Just before Christmas, the American oncologist we have been consulting with, informed us that there is a brand new trial at a well known hospital in New York for Ewing’s Sarcoma patients.

He told us that, as Billy’s cancer was still growing, this trial provided the best option to target the disease directly and give Billy the best chance of survival.

The trial is for a brand new drug, the first that has been developed to attack Ewing’s Sarcoma cells specifically. This is now our only hope of a cure and we MUST get Billy to America for this trial to save his life!

We have also discussed the trial with Billy’s NHS consultant who has been positive in their support of Billy accessing this trial and has been happy to make the referral to the Hospital in New York on Billy’s behalf.

Unfortunately, all the costs will need to be funded by ourselves, including medical bills, insurance, travel, accommodation and living whilst there.
We are desperately in need of your help as this is literally now the only valid option we have to save Billy’s life.

As any mother can imagine, I am absolutely desperate to raise these funds so that my son can live and I am asking for your help urgently.

Time is increasingly against us, more so than ever and we need to get Billy on to this trial as soon as possible!!!!!

All I want is to carry on being Billy’s mum. I cannot bear to think of what will happen if we don’t raise the funds.

More about Billy.

Billy has everything to live for. Ever since he was little he was a lovely, kind soul.

He has gone on to help raise awareness around mental health issues for other young people going through cancer, including this interview with Channel 4 news and through some published articles he has written. He recently went on Radio Norfolk with me to talk about his ordeal and this campaign.

He has a huge love of music and art which has motivated him to focus on his future. This year Billy even graduated from the Access Creative College artist development programme, despite his relentless ordeal and having to do most  of his work remotely, usually from his bed, due to his cancer treatment.

During long periods of treatment and being isolated from friends, Billy focused upon writing, producing and recording his own songs from his bedroom in Norwich and has been catching the eye of several prominent artists in the field. He is an incredibly talented song writer with a beautiful voice and has the potential to be a successful musician.

To say that Billy has been through a traumatic time is an understatement. When most young people are making plans for their futures, becoming independent and having fun, Billy has spent most of the last three years undergoing harrowing hospital treatment or at home sick with the side effects.

Billy is an incredibly strong young man and despite battling this disease for three years he shows the strength of an ox.

I am making an urgent and heartfelt plea for as many of you as possible to please help my son access this treatment and let him live.

Please help us, Billy deserves to live!!!!!

Anything raised which is not used to help Billy will be donated to other young people battling cancer.

Your help and support is literally everything to us.
Please support and share far and wide to
#Help Billy live!

Our love and gratitude as always
