On Sunday evening, our community lost an amazing woman--Lian Shalala Gravelle.  Her tragic passing leaves behind her husband, Brian, her precious 6 month old boys, Charlie & Enzo, who she fought so hard to bring into this world, and friends and family who loved her to the ends of the earth.  Her absence also leaves behind a lot of unfinished work as her experience with preeclampsia turned her into a fierce advocate for maternal health.  This condition is what ultimately robbed us of her.  Looking forward, a group of friends (we refer to ourselves as "Lian's Warriors") have decided to start a Memorial Fund in her honor to provide much needed support to Brian and the boys in this time of need.  We are already discussing what will come next to make sure we continue the work she had started for maternal health advocacy.  More information will be posted here so please donate if you able and share this campaign so that we can help alleviate some of the financial burden this devastating loss will have on her family.
