HELP ELIYANA ERASE IGNORANCE AS AN EXCUSE FOR RACISM! #ignoranceisntbliss
READ BELOW FOR INFO ON OUR NEW GOAL!
As a result of coming forward and telling her story about the culture of racism at her Middle School, Eliyana Stern was invited to attend the We Stand Youth Summit on March 21st, 2017.
we stand facebook post
GOAL of 650 was reached , please read on for info regarding new goal!
**Update:
Funds for the initial trip (650.00) have been raised and we are moving forward!**
We are now continuing to raise funds in an effort to build a website and have a small, non-profit Youth Conference in Squamish. We are hoping to fly Jesse Lipscombe ( of makeitawkward.ca) in from Alberta, as well as a few other speakers. We want to make it not only informative but fun! We hope to include some comedy and music as well.
We are looking for help and volunteers of any kind (it doesn't have to be financial!) We will need advice from community leaders, youth, and adults who want to be involved. There is so much yet to be done. First and foremost, Eliyana will try to have a discussion with Mr. Lipscombe at the Summit in Edmonton this March 21st, to get a better idea of his schedule. We want to try and book him as soon as possible. Adult volunteers will follow up with Mr. Lipscombe after the summit.
Please feel free to contact us anytime with questions or concerns, and thank you for taking the time to read this!
Cheers!

**ORIGINAL CAMPAIGN INFO**
******************************************************
Eliyana requires help with airfare as well as money for basic expenses such as food and transportation while in Edmonton.
Eli will be spending a few extra days in Edmonton. While there, she hopes to network, make connections, (she really wants to meet Jesse Lipscombe of #makeitawkward ) who is speaking at the We Stand Summit and hopefully gain some valuable insight into what it takes to create a Non-Profit organization.
All donation money spent will be documented and made available to any donor who requires the information. We want to ensure that you know exactly where your dollars are going!
Any funds donated that go above and beyond what is required for this trip will go directly towards the #ignoranceisntbliss movement. (Eliyana's goal is to keep working towards building awareness, in an effort to ensure that other children won't have to experience what she went through.
Eli plans on eventually holding a Youth Conference here in Squamish. She would also like to build a peer-based support website, implementing affinity groups focused on peer support and cultural awareness in EVERY school that will allow them, and eventually travelling to schools outside the sea to sky corridor to spread her positive message of acceptance for all races and cultures.
Below are links that may better help you understand her journey.
Thanks again and please contact us with questions or concerns!
If you require confirmation of Eliyana's invite and acceptance (for the Summit). Please send us a message and we will provide you with the name and email of someone from We Stand YEG.
