Lets Help Rosalea Nall Rebuild

$36,930 of $50,000 goal

Raised by 420 people in 4 months

Meet Rosalea Nall. She is an 83 year old widowed Pearland resident. Her home, which had never flooded before, was gutted due to the damage from Hurricane Harvey. She is living in it with no hvac, no kitchen, no bathroom, no hot or running water and all the Sheetrock is gone. Jon met her on a service call through his job and was just shocked at the condition of her home. She has no family to help, did not have flood insurance and has exhausted all help from FEMA. She was denied a loan from the SBA due to her age. Most would be overwhelmed by her daily struggle but she just takes it “one hour at a time” and is trying to move forward. There are some public entities and churches that are arranging to help her, but the process is slow, the outcomes have not been determined. This fund will help her with some basic necessities and offer some immediate assistance. All proceeds will go directly to help Rosalea in her journey to move forward. Please pass this along if you know of anyone that could help. Thanks, Jon and Jennifer Riveira

Thank you all so much for your continued support!! Things are coming along slowly but surely. Here's a quick update:
Floors=done!! They look so good! Rosalea loves it!
Had a little issue with the ceiling texture, hope to get resolved by this week. New fans and fixtures will be going in this week (pending the ceiling issue being resolved). Starting next Monday, doors, cabinets and trim will be installed!!
Rosalea has been staying in a hotel nearby for the last 2 weeks or so, paid for by this fund. We hope to get her back into the house this week, depending on what happens with the ceiling texture issue.
Please keep following her Facebook page for more regular updates (Rosaleas Sleepy Hollow). We wouldn't be able to make this happen if it wasn't for your generosity! Rosalea is so thankful and appreciative to each and every one of you!

Sheetrock is being taped, floated and textured. AC compressor and other items were replaced this weekend (thanks to Abel AC and Heat and Aircon) but now there is an electrical problem that will hopefully be fixed today. We still have not secured a cabinet donation, so if anyone can help please contact us! We are also still working on appliances-again, if you can help us out in any way, please contact us. As soon as cabinets are in, we will have flooring installed. Things are coming along slowly but surely.

In the meantime, Jennifer Maldonado, with the Pearland Professional Firefighters Association, has been hosting Mrs. Nall and Ms. Kitty at her home. She took Mrs Nall shopping for some necessities this weekend and Ms. Nall got some much needed rest.

Thank you for your continued support!!! We will post another update soon.

Amazing! That’s all we can say....Thank you so much for your support! We wouldn't be able to get this done without all of you!
Update through yesterday:
City inspectors came to inspect electrical and plumbing and gave it the green light to proceed!! Thank you A Better Plumbing, Al's Plumbing and SGG Electrical!
We purchased the remaining Sheetrock (with funds from this account) and Pearland Lumber stepped up (AGAIN) and donated screws, tape and mud. Sheetrock should is being installed today and the HVAC system is scheduled for tomorrow. A brand new unit has been donated for outside and Able A/C and Heat and Aircon will be installing it.
Flooring Source from Friendswood came out and measured the flooring and will be donating the flooring materials for the entire house (all flooring was removed)
We are using funds from this account to hire a someone to tape/float and texture the sheetrock. We are still looking flooring installers. Paint for the project has been DONATED!! Look for a community day event announcement coming soon, we will need all hands on deck to help with painting and cleanup. Thanks so much y’all!!!!! Update 7/9:
Things are progressing quickly. Many trades have been working in the house the last several days. She now has a water heater, bathtub and a sink. There is still so much to do, but things are moving forward quickly. To keep up with the progress, please follow the Rosaleas Sleepy Hollow page we created on facebook. Search @rosaleasrebuilding to find it.

We talked with Rosalea about this gofundme account and she was touched at the outpouring of support. She asked us to leave the money in the account for now and use it as needed for the rebuild. So far everything has been donated, so we have not withdrawn any funds. We will use it as needed and whatever is left will be transferred to her. We will keep you updated-she will definitely need every penny of this fund to return her life back to pre-Harvey normal. Thank you again for your kindness and generosity!!
