Ricky Spreyer

On Friday, October7th, our brother and everyone's friend Ricky Spreyer, was rushed to the hospital by ambulance. He had difficulty breathing,nausea, extreme pain in both legs to the point he temporarily lost use of them. After many tests, the Dr.'s at Yale New Haven Hospital discovered Ricky has several blood clots in his leg, spleen, and kidneys. They found that he has a hole in his heart that clots are traveling through and into his arteries . He also has a clot in the apex of the heart causing it to not function properly. Early Saturday, he was taken in to emergency surgery. After many hours , the Chief vascular surgeon was able to save Ricky's leg and is now closely monitoring to make sure the healing continues to progress.
Though the Dr.'s are puzzled as to why these clots are forming, they are doing everything in their power to figure out why they are happening,how to fix them and prevent their reoccurrence. Ricky has a long way to go and has fought and dealt with this very admirably.
For all of us that know Ricky, we understand that during his stay in the hospital for the next couple weeks, the staff at Yale will surely love his sense of humor and his infectious personality. What they may not be aware of is Ricky's devotion to his family, friends and community. He has dedicated hours upon hours in raising money for charities and being there for anyone and everyone in need! Though he may be mad at us when he sees we are asking, we feel It's time for us to return the favor. He will be out of work for the near future causing much unneeded stress especially in his condition. if you would like to make a donation to Ricky it will be greatly appreciated.
