Meagan and Chris met over 8 years ago in Beauty school and it was love at first sight!   Young, true love is hard to find, but the love they share is deep.

They got married November 3, 2016 and it was a day to remember.   Not only did they feel they became Mr & Mrs Bechtold but not many can say they married their best friend.

They both have remained in the beauty industry with Meagan working retail and Chris a hair stylist.    No wonder Meagan’s hair always looks perfect!

Meagan had a cough for almost 2 months and returned to the doctor on Friday the 13th.   They took X-rays and realized something was very wrong and sent her to the hospital immediately.    After many tests, fevers, night sweats and possible diagnosis’, they were told she had Hodgkin’s Lymphoma ( a rare form of cancer).

Meagan will need to go have chemotherapy and radiation every 2 weeks for the next 6 months.  Which will build up many medical bills along with time off from work for both of them.

So please, if you remember the feeling of true love and can find it in your heart to help this young amazing couple through this very hard time.    All donations are greatly appreciated.

I willl continue to update as her progress continues...

UPDATE:  Meagan completed her 6 months of chemo, and went in mid January for a PET scan.   The results weren’t quite what we had been hoping for, her original mass of cancer was gone but 2 more masses have appeared.    They did a biopsy in in the beginning of March and the results came back that they are also Hodgkins Lymphoma.   So now the doctors are going to try a more intense approach with her chemo.   Last week she went through 3 chemo sessions 3 days in a row!   It was tough and probably one of the most grueling things she had done so far.    She will be doing that again and then the plan is to send her to California to undergo even more intense chemo along with stem cells.   So her battle isn’t done and they continue to need your help and support.    Thank you all that have helped them as it has been extremely helpful to both of them.   Let’s do our best and help them to continue to reach their goal.

She has been writing a blog called TheBechtoldBattle.blog which you might find very inspiring to read her progress.

For those of you that have been following Meagan’s story this is an update that frustrates me to no end.
The end of last week Meagan got a call from Ulta (her employer) let her go even though she was on long term disability while going through Cancer treatment. They were rude and not understanding about her situation and treated her like this was her fault. So she has now lost her management job, will have insurance until the 20th of this month then has to pay out of pocket for cobra, and is still fighting for her life. All the while she is staying as positive as she can.
Let’s see what we can do to help Meagan get through this trying time of her life.

These are her words:
These last 24 hours have honestly been the most heart breaking and emotionally draining part of this whole journey so far. I can’t quite put into words all the feelings you get before, during, and after you shave what’s left of your hair falling out, but in the end losing my hair is just apart of the battle. I know it’ll come back stronger, thicker, and even heavier than before ‍♀️‍♀️. In the meantime I found my perfect wig with a purple hue to represent Hodgkin’s Lymphoma

Thank you to my amazing husband who shaved his own head (don’t worry the beards still there) and lifted my spirits as well as shaving my head. You are my rock ❤️

This has been an interesting week for Meagan. Tuesday she was supposed to get her second dose of chemo but her white cell count was critically low and she had to get some boosters first to help increase her white cell count.
In the mean time her hair was starting to fall out so she decided to cut it off to a cute bob! While she was waiting for chemo she was eating soup and Mac and cheese. Well today her count was much better so she got her second dose of chemo. Stay strong Meagan, you can do this!!!
