Ehsan is a talented international PhD student in the 4th year of his PhD at university of Quebec in Canada. I've known him since 2001, when we were bachelors students in Iran.
He came to Canada to make his future with lots of hopes and dreams. He planned to be a creative and effective engineer in Canadian industries. After 4 years of ongoing effort, and getting one step closer to his final goal, while preparing to defend his PhD dissertation; he applied for Canada visa. The visa is only meant for Ehsan to visit his family in Iran and be able to re-enter Canada again to finish his studies. Unfortunately, he received a letter from Citizenship and Immigration Canada (IRCC) that his visa application is rejected and he is inadmissible for 5 year from entry to Canada and applying for any other permit. Banning to enter Canada and removal order mean he couldn’t finish his study and follow his plans and dreams.
The reason of being banned to enter to Canada is an unintentional mistake in filling out the visa application forms. He was obsessed with his PhD and inadvertently forgot to mention his rejected US visa in his application form for Canada visa. He applied for US visa to participate in a conference and present his research paper there. But his US visa application was rejected because of Trump's executive order banning travel from majority Muslim countries after 10 months of processing time.
It is not fair to treat an honest educated person like Ehsan who always had a clean record and other frauds who abuse the law willingly in the same manner. Now, his last chance for removing this ban is to defend himself in a federal court of Canada but he has no chance without getting legal counsel. Unfortunately, he cannot afford an attorney. The estimated cost of future legal work/ court costs is approx $7000. We are trying to raise $6000 which will be fully paid for lawyer fees.
Let’s help Ehsan to afford Lawyer fees for the court, and finish his PhD study.
