Let's Get Moving!

My goal is to raise enough money to buy a sports wheelchair for our elementary school and now that we’ve done that, our goal moves on to a chair for the middle school. This will be used by our students who are currently participating in our P.E. classes in their regular wheelchairs which are not designed for use on courts.

I'd like to introduce you to Ezra, one of the 21 first graders who occupy my heart this year. Ezra is an energetic, caring and happy first grader and he is one of the friends at our school who would be using this new chair.  He will put this chair to great use! He has great energy! In fact, just this morning, Ezra completed a 5K Handcycle race! I'll see if I can add a picture! He has the best smile on his face!

Sports empower children to stay mentally and physically healthy. Physical activity keeps kids active, builds confidence, and introduces them to new friends. One way kids learn different sports is in the Physical Education classes at school.The chair we are looking at is adjustable and can be used by several of our students.  A sports wheelchair is perfect for basketball, tennis, softball, floor hockey, or any other sport or activity that is played on a court.
