Let's get Cathy and Sean on their feet

Donation protected
On Saturday, December 21, 2019, Sean wasn't feeling well and thankfully Cathy recognized some of his symptoms and called 911 immediately. In the blink of an eye, their world turned upside-down as they were given the news that Sean had suffered a stroke at the age of 54. He was given medication to try and break up the clot and to improve blood flow to the area of the brain that was affected; however, to no avail, the medication did not work. The hospital then transferred Sean to Lahey Hospital as they hoped a neurosurgeon could remove the clot surgically. Unfortunately, Sean's stroke/clot is in his brainstem and is too dangerous for him to have it removed.  They were then told that the doctors discovered a mass in his chest that they believe to be lymphoma.  When he is a little stronger he will undergo further testing to determine what type of mass it is and will have a plan made then to deal with that. Sean is now at a rehab facility with left-sided weakness and he is unable to walk or be cared for at home. His recovery is going to be a long road and is looking at months of being out of work.  Through all of this,  Cathy is by his side lifting his spirits with her unwavering optimism and her wacky sense of humor to make Sean laugh.

As many of you know, this is not Cathy and Sean's 1st misfortune in their lives- as both of them lost previous spouses to cancer.  No one should be a widow at the age of 30 years old with a 1-year-old baby to raise alone.  Cathy and Sean would end up finding each other years later and fell in love.  When it came time to planning their wedding they opted for no wedding reception or gifts but instead asked that their wedding guests make a donation to the American Cancer Society and held their wedding ceremony at the Relay for Life event in 2013. Their wedding/fundraising efforts  raised thousands of  dollars towards finding a cure for Cancer.  This is just one of many selfless acts Sean and Cathy have done to help others and speaks volumes as to who they are as caring individuals.

They are not asking for help because they are too proud, but it is evident that they are in need.  I have created this GoFundMe to help lessen their burden of Sean's unforeseen medical emergency. With any long term hospitalization comes extra expenses. Time out of work, additional medical bills, co-pays, gas going to and from appointments, etc, etc....  She has so much to worry about with Sean's medical needs that the last thing that anyone should have to worry about is how they will be able to afford missing time out of work to take care of their spouse and family.  Any donation would be greatly appreciated and if you don't want to donate on GoFundMe then I ask you to send a check,  a  gift card( for groceries or gas)or even a meal to their house, or to just share this with anyone who can help. They have so many people who love them but do not live close to them to be able to help on a daily basis. I am asking for your help to make things a little easier during this difficult time for this amazing couple.  Thank you for your support and continued prayers for Sean.
