Lending a hand for Luke

Luke, at almost three years old, has recently been diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (B-ALL).
With what started as enlarged Lymph nodes around mid March this year, and a couple visits to the family Doctor, the Whitfield family began their journey to figure out what was happening with their son's health.
The doctor sent Luke for an ultrasound which came back inconclusive followed by bloodwork, as requested by his parents. Jocelyn, Luke's mother, started to notice petechia ( small red dots), excessive bruising and low low energy, sleeping 3+ hrs a day for naps.
They went back to the hospital to get more blood work done and by 4:30pm that day they were on their way to the BC children’s Hospital. Luke was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (B-ALL) and will begin a lengthy 3+ years of all different kinds of medications and chemo therapy. Luke started his first round of Chemo this past week.
Luke's parents will be taking a lot of time off work and trying to manage with a significant reduction in pay which makes just the normal day to day bills, food, gas ( driving into children’s hospital 1-2 x wk throughout the next 3+ years) very challenging.
Sayings like "treat others how you want to be treated" and "be the change" hold so much more meaning in the world we are in today and the suffering we witness. Through kindness, love, and support we will stand with Luke throughout his journey.
