Help me to finish my 2nd grad year
Donation protected
Hello my dear friends, family and supporters,
I've been thinking about doing a 'Fund Me' page for a while, but I didn't really have the guts to ask for your support. Until Now.
My name is Lena Wunderlich and I am in my final year of my graduate studies in Jewelry and Metalsmithing at Rhode Island School of Design (RISD). During my undergrad studies in Germany I did a semester abroad at RISD where I was able to grow by meeting such a diverse group of innovative artists.
After that experience I knew RISD was the perfect place for me to study for my Masters. Since education in the US is not free I prepared myself to apply for Scholarships to help support the steep costs of education and living while seeking higher education. It was no easy feat, but in the end I received the Fulbright scholarship, which supported me with not only the tuition but the costly living expenses in the U.S. I was very grateful for that award. Unfortunately the German Fulbright Commission only funds students for the first year of grad school and then pretty much leaves them to their own devices to pay the extreme costs of grad school.
For me, it is out of question to not finish my program, but in order to pursue it I need some financial help. I have done everything in my power to seek out and obtain scholarship, loan, and other means of financial support. My wonderful family has been gracious in helping me, but I am still in a state of financial need as RISD is not an inexpensive school to attend. This is why I am taking this opportunity to humbly ask for your help.
Finances for One Year at Rhode Island School of Design (MFA Jewelry + Metalsmithing)
$1500+
Jewelry materials:
-Brass, Copper, etc
-Silicone etc.
-Model Making Material
-Tools
$1100-/+
expenses for my final thesis:
-paper and printing
-book binding
-research materials
$300+
school supplies:
-Text books etc
$5500
living expenses:

-groceries
With your help, completing my Masters in Fine Arts at RISD will be made feasible! I will be able to continue to enrich my conceptual and technical skills, as well as further my personal development through a cross-cultural experience without the fear of not meeting financial constraints.
Thank you so much!
Lena
