Houston, We Have a Problem...

We are the Lego Chefs, a First Lego League team from Spokane, Washington. We may look all fun and games, but we know how to cook up success. Since our school does not have robotics, we formed a private team after convincing one of our Moms to be a coach. This is our second year competing, and after winning the Eastern Washington State Championship, we are going to Houston to the World Championships April 19-22! Our invention to solve the problem of the overpopulation of deer in suburban areas also received our region's nomination for the Global Innovation Award.   Check out the story in the Spokesman Review! 


FLL issues a different challenge every year. This year teams had to solve a human/animal conflict, build and program a Lego Mindstorms robot to compete on a course, and as always, and most importantly, display excellent core values. The most important of these involves being gracious to each other and everyone else around you at all times. 

We are so excited to meet teams from around the world, exchange ideas and information, compete, and HAVE FUN!!! There will be 108 teams from over 30 countries there at our level,  600 total teams through high school, and over 30,000 people. Luckily for you, helping us get to Houston is much easier than helping to get the astronauts of Apollo 13 home. Please donate to help us cover the costs of registration, travel, hotels, shipping, and food. You are an important ingredient in our success!
