Ian Flowers is from the UK but has lived in this country for 10+ years. He obtained a Visa to marry a US citizen which he did. His wife Jennifer is now disabled & she has 2 special needs children whom Ian treats like they're his own. Due to a clerical error, he has not been able to get legalized in this country.
After spending the last 2 yrs complying with the steps to become legal as he was able to get the money to afford everything. Due to a disgruntled neighbor called ICE agents & was he was taken into custody on January 15th. The link below tells his story of that day.
Now with the threat of being deported at any moment, & being banned from this country & his family for the next 10 yrs, he & his wife are raising money for lawyers fees & a possible bond to bring him home to allow him to finish the process of becoming legal.
Ian has never been involved with anything criminal & has no arrest record. He has not taken anyone's job as he felt it wasn't fair until he has his legal papers so he became a spray paint street artist or doing odd jobs to make ends meet for his family. He gets no government help such as DSS. He doesn't hide his illegal status & has lived at the same address the entire time he has been here.
He's the sole caretaker for his family. He also his a huge part of our community. Making things better in our subsidized apartments every day he's been here. He started a tenants association to protect residents rights. He works with local food banks, delivering food to those in need. He helps with hurt animals, & works with animal shelters to get discounted sterilizations, shots & treatments. He does fundraising to help the kids have community events, or get what they need. He knows all the kids here and is most of the time an emergency babysitter. Ian has helped teens see that they are important & worth more when they've been suicidal. Ian helps every neighbor with anything he can. Our community is lost without his presence here.
He is very patriotic to this country, & has nothing in the UK to go home to. He needs our help & deserves to be a legal citizen. Please help us bring him home to his family.
