We, Mackenzie Nase, Ilias De Quidt and Robbie Solway, are participating in the International Youth Initiative Program (YIP) which includes an international internship. The three of us are interning with an organization which helps local projects in the Philippines, and we need your help financing this amazing learning experience.
Information about Philippines Internship:
On this internship / learning adventure, we will co-create initiatives with MISSION (the Movement of Imaginals for Sustainable Societies Through Initiatives, Organizing, and Networking organization). We will be arriving in Manila; exploring MISSION's projects throughout the country as we move south to the city of Bayawan. Once we are in Bayawan, we will be joining a team of youth empowermenrt professionals to design and organize Y-Not, a 3-month educational program for Filipino millennials to get in touch with their passions, rediscover what it means to be human, take control of their lives and learn about how to confront the modern challenges of global society. We are itching to start designing the curriculum and preparing to host the Y-Not participants.
We also can't wait for another initiative we plan to work on: the Bambu-lympics. The Bambu-lympics are all about getting creative with bamboo. We got really intrigued when we heard about the idea of constructing and racing bicycles built from bamboo!
We are asking for your support to help us work with these inspiring Filipino visionaries. We have been working with MISSION to estimate our budget for food, transportation, and accommodation. The amount we are ultimately hoping to fundraise in order to meet our financial needs is 3200 euros ($3770 USD; $4760 CAD).
Making even a small contribution to our funds would go a long way. We want to sweeten the deal with some awesome incentives each time our total fundraising reaches the next goal!
250 EUROS: Mackenzie gets the Filipino Flag painted on her face by Robbie and Ilias.
500 EUROS: Robbie grows out a beautiful mustache for a month.
750 EUROS: For an entire day, the only words Mackenzie, Robbie, and Ilias are allowed to say are "Why not?!”
1000 EUROS: Ilias shaves Y-NOT in his head.
