Update: Thank you to all the friends that have contributed and helped us reach our original goal!!! We have reached enough to cover the cost of the memorial service, HOWEVER, I just upped the goal to encourage people to continue to contribute. We are hoping to make a nice donation in her name to a classmate going through some extreme medical issues. Laurie was an amazing and giving friend to anyone who knew her. Any donation would be a great way to honor Laurie and allow her, one final time, to help a friend and his family.
Original Post: We are all deeply saddened by the recent passing of our dear friend, Laurie Ward. Sadly the family has opted not to hold a memorial service for her, so we, as friends, are organizing one for her. The service will be Saturday December 9th at 11:30 am at Michaywe Inn The Woods in Gaylord . The meeting space has been generously donated. We will have an officiant and a chance for her friends to share their favorite memories of her. There will be a catered meal directly following the service. This fund is to raise money for the expenses involved with the meal. If any funds are raised over and above the cost of the memorial expenses, that money will be donated to another of Laurie's classmates, Jerry Rayl, who is having some severe medical issues right now. Donate if you can, but if you can't please be sure to go to Laurie's facebook page and leave a memory of her. She was an amazing friend to so many people and will be dearly missed.
