Laurie's Cancer Fund

Our dear friend Laurie , a mental health nurse and addiction specialist, retired in January after a 45 year career serving the CNY community.  Just as she was settling into her well-deserved retirement, health issues emerged.  Sadly, she was diagnosed with an aggressive cancer of the parotid gland.  Her doctor characterized it as a "mean tumor," and has recommended an intense and immediate course of treatment.  

This plan requires multiple trips from Syracuse to Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston for head and neck surgery and follow-up, radiation, and potentially chemotherapy.  Costs associated with travel and treatment have quickly mounted.  We are looking for donations to offset these costs so that she can continue this lifesaving treatment.  

Laurie has worked her entire life taking care of others, touching so many lives with her warmth and generosity.  Let us respond in kind by contributing in the most useful way possible.  With our help she can be on the road to recovery and get back to the business of enjoying her retirement.  Any amount helps.  We are very grateful for any assistance you can offer.
