Laura's Brain Tumor Treatment

Dear friends and supporters, Laura was diagnosed in 2014 with a grade 3 Astrocytoma brain tumor on her right frontal lobe. Four days after the discovery we were in the hospital for a resection of her brain to remove the tumor. This happened right before her 30th birthday which turned our lives upside down. It cancelled her surprise birthday trip to Napa which I had been planning for a year. Following recovery from the surgery, we did chemo and radiation therapy. We seemed out of the woods with just MRI's to follow up and monitor. 2 years later, a MRI showed new growth, After another surgery performed just over a month ago, the tumor removed was classified as a Gliobastoma multiforme. She is recovering now 

but needs more treatments and followup MRI's. The latest scan has now shown that she has a very rare gliomatosis cerebri. Even in brain cancers, this is one of the rarest you can have, so we are following up with a newer treatment and medley of drugs starting in May. Laura has always given her time and effort to those around her. She is a doctor of physical therapy, and has helped many orthopedic patients recover and also home health therapy to help those who could not leave their dwelling. She was an organizer and coach for girls club volleyball often getting her team to qualify for nationals.

She also was an organizer and coach for USA Fit, a group to train normal people and couch potatoes to get out and start walking and running, with many of them completing half and full marathons,.

She also has gotten me off the couch and made me a better person as she usually does with those around her. We have done marathons together, cycling races, and traithlons before she was sick. We loved to cycle together with friends and her parents.

We have used up most of our savings that we were originally planning to purchase a house with but we still have many more medical treaments and bills coming forward. If you can or can't donate, please forward this or pass it on to every friend you know. Laura also is quite an activist here in Colorado. Since she can't currently work at the moment so she spends as much time as she is physically and emotionally able to help fight for civil rights of others. We both participated in recent Marches and she leads a local huddle for community activism here in Lakewood and volunteers for Planned Parenthood also.
