William (Bill) Lewis Landgrebe, age 47, of Newtown Connecticut passed away on Thursday, December 27, 2018. Bill was born on Auqust 2nd, 1971 in Norwalk, CT to devoted parents Bruce and Jane Landgrebe. A lifelong resident of Newtown, he grew up there with his three siblings. He is fondly remembered by Kathryn Drap of Monroe, CT, Jeffrey Landgrebe and his wife Susie of Arundel, ME and Carolyn Landgrebe of Newtown, CT.
Bill met the love of his life, Daonne in 1993 through mutual friends. They married in 1995 and together they have dedicated themselves to raising three amazing children, Craig, Evan and Avery. He was an adoring, loving father and his greatest joy was spending time with his wife and children.
He adored his wife, as she did him, and was known to lovingly exclaim the secret to marriage was “happy wife, happy life”. He enjoyed summer bonfires that always ended with his amazing firework displays with the Landgrebe and Wade families and friends, eating a delicious meal (especially rare prime rib), riding scooters around town, and watching NASCAR races with his boys. Bill was known for his unique laugh and great big “bear” hugs.
He worked for 19 years as an automotive technician for the phone company while running his own Timber Ridge Tree Service and most recently, Country Oil. Bill took great pride in hard work and providing for his family. He instilled his strong work ethic in his children, along with his generosity. No matter how busy he was, he always had time to help out family and friends.
Bill was a beloved son, husband, father, brother, brother-in-law, and uncle who will be deeply missed by many. Bill's kind and generous nature will forever live in our hearts. He was a gift from God and our blessing. We are truly privileged to have known him.
