Lander for Uganda

Donation protected
Hi everyone! Call me crazy, but this year I am competing in the Tough Mudder in Gloucestershire (this includes climbing mountains of hay bales whilst covered in mud and getting electrocuted!!)to help fund raise for a really good cause that my uncle is a big part of. My uncle works at Richard Lander school in Cornwall and each year members of staff (including my uncle) and about 30 students travel to Uganda to visit the Richard Lander partner schools to distribute funds that have been raised throughout the year. They have the opportunity to make a real difference to hundreds of Ugandan children and their wider community, who live in poverty in rural Uganda. No-one is afraid to get their hands dirty, the RLS students have previously extended and renovated a dormitory, painted all of the exterior walls of a local primary school, laid bricks to build a new toilet block, tackled termite mounds, taught lessons and brightened up classroom walls with murals. A school library and main hall were refurbished with the dangerous potholed floor being replaced and book shelves being crafted by Kamuzinda students, working alongside Richard Lander School students, under the watchful eye of local carpenter Vicent. Food parcels and bras were distributed, along with sports kits, baby clothes, and all the other donations which had been generously donated by the good people back home. And are hoping to achieve the same, if not more, this year!!
I'm so proud of everyone that gets to go along and do this trip and hope one day I can actually go out with them!
