So here's the deal. I've been planning to move from Springfield, Virginia -where the cost of living is more than I can really handle- to Las Vegas, where the cost of living is literally half what it is here. This is going to cost me roughly $2000 in moving expenses - but that's not what I need help with.
One of my creditors has succeeded in garnishing my wages, which puts the whole move in jeopardy. Since this would strand me in the DC area for at least another year, I've decided to file for bankruptcy and retained a lawyer. Unfortunately, until I can raise the money for the filing and the lawyer's fee, the garnishment continues, and might well push back the move until after next tax season, with secondary effects on my health that I really would rather not think about.
As an incentive, I'm offering roles in an SF novella I'm working on, "The Misfit". It's a tale of a young officer posted to a dead-end ship in the middle of a desperate war for Earth's survival, all because his very wealthy and very connected mother wants him kept off the firing line - and how with a little help, he works the system with surprising results.
For $10, you get my fervent thanks and an acknowledgement in the book.
For $25, you get a PDF proof copy of the novella before it's posted on Amazon, and I'll throw in a free copy of the finished e-book complete with electronic signature through Authorgraph - and, of course, thanks and acknowledgement.
For $50, you get to be a spear-carrier (no dialogue) plus the above.
For $100, you'll get a minor role - some dialogue and effect on the plot - plus the above.
