Kylee's Prayer

UPDATE 1-29-17 :

Kylee has been dealing with this illness since June when she called home to say she couldn't use the bathroom. She was admitted for the first time in August where they found a blockage in her intestine. She has since been admitted numerous times to 3 different hospitals for tests, 6 surgeries and too many procedures to count. They know that her colon is not working and the nerve signals in her GI tract are not reaching her brain.

The dr's in the Shreveport/ bossier area are completely baffled by her case and are not sure what to do for her other then admit her for NG tube clean outs which are not working very well anymore at all.

Her case has been sent to numerous Dr groups like Children's NOLA, Children's Little Rock and Christus Santa Rosa. All have come back saying they do not know what to do for her or that their facility is not capable of handling this.

Kylees is on 7 different medications daily to try and force her body to clean out but her body has quit responding to the medications. They are continually having to up the dosage or try a different medication some work for a day or two some not at all. These medications are very expensive some around $400.00 a month and they may only be used for a short time and then discarded for something new.

There are two Dr. Groups that feel as if they can help kylee. Both are being completely denied by Her insurance. One is Children's Dallas she has been admitted there and had numerous tests done that the insurance is refusing to pay. However they need to do another test and place a G tube to assist with her clean outs and see what the surgical options are to get her well wether that be removing part or all of her colon or something else but insurance refuses to allow it. The other is Dr. Shepard at OHSU in Oregon they as well feel like they can help her and he is one of the top specialist in the Nation in his field but insurance refuses to let her go there ether.

It seems the only way to get Kylee well is to go around the insurance and pay for it to show them the need. This will be very expensive and this family needs help to do that. Kylee has been placed on homebound from school. She requires 24 hour care and is spending 3-4 days a week in the hospital and has many Dr's appointments as well. Shannon is not being able to work and their savings is about gone. She is afraid that she won't be able to afford the medications much less the household bills and travel and expenses associated with trying to get Kylee well Please help this family get this pretty girl well and back on her feet doing what a 15 year old should be doing.

Kylee Ferguson is the 15 year old daughter of Shannon Gilliland and an active young teenager in the North Webster community who is a NW Varsity Cheerleader and plays for the Varsity NW Lady Softball team. For the past several months, Kylee has been having some unknown health issues, which has lead to countless hospital stays, missed school, 3 surgeries and her mother unable to work. Out of the past five weeks, Kylee has spent only a total of 8 days outside of a hospital.
Last week Kylee was taken to WK Bossier where tests were ran, but once again came to a road block on her diagnosis so they sent her to WK South where they were more equipped to handle pediatric care. Once at WKSouth, they found Kylee to be bleeding internally which will require yet more test, more surgeries, and being transferred to Dallas Children's hospital.
During these past months and months to come, bills still have to be paid, while helping with medical expenses for Kylee, traveling expenses, and possible hotel stays.
Kylee's mother, Shannon is the only family she has around; the rest of her family is in Oregon and North Carolina.
We ask that you find in your heart to help this family in any way, shape, form, or fashion!! We understand that times are hard for everyone, but this beautiful child deserves some answers and some healing grace! And she needs her momma there with her.
