Campaign For Star of the Sea

$53,125 of $50,000 goal

Raised by 1,378 people in 39 months
Please consider showing your support for a priest and a parish whose only goal is to re-establish traditional practices.

If other priests and parishes see that the authentic lay faithful WILL support efforts like this and priests like this, then it will go a long way to renewing the Faith.

Bill is right it is discrimination, but all discrimination is not wrong. A person with discriminating tastes is able to assess and choose based on reason and understanding of the historical basis for the choice. Jesus chose all males for his Priesthood and the Church has a long tradition of using male only altar boys as a recognition of the special place for males at the altar. It drives and encourages priestly vocations, which we desperately need. My daughters and wife have never felt discriminated against by the Church, just as I do not feel discriminated against when we say all the Hail Mary's and Hail Holy Queen in the Rosary.

I saw this page in it's early stages. Heard "donate" ring in my soul but ignored it and moved on. Saw today's Vortex. When Father Illo said it was "Divine Providence" a bell like the sound of Emmanuel of Notre Dame then rung in my soul. If you didn't see todays (2/3/15) episode, Fr Illo discovered they needed money for another program to bring back Tradition before learning of this funding page. They're starting a classical music program of chant and polyphony and went over budget and hence I made a first time donation on a funding page. The fund was started to help this Parish with the altar girl removal debacle, now they're also putting in a program I wish all Churches would do... dump what I call "the happy clappy" guitar/piano/percussion drivel. I walked out of High Mass one Sunday at a large church (can almost call it a cathedral) in Manchester, NH. I was preparing myself for Mass while there were teenage kids tuning guitars, mic checks, etc. I stood up, glared and walked out the door apologizing to the Lord and praying for the transgressors. I started attending the Diocesan cathedral 7pm Sunday Mass with organ and cantor after that.. if I'm in the area. It's come to be expected (unfortunately) that early masses are happy clappy and High Mass is semi-traditional. The parish I'm registered in has put $25k+ into the restoration/updating of our organ. I pray the completion come soon.

Bill King is indeed correct: boys and girls have the same "right" to serve the Mass: no right whatsoever. Serving is a privilege, not a right.

We must do what is morally right...and that would be to get Christ's Church back on the footing of the days of old. Attaining Heaven should be the ultimate goal for each of us, even if sacrifice is required. We have distorted the importance and definition of equality. We each have a role to serve and the roles are not the SAME, but can still be equally important and valued in God's eyes. God's Will be done on earth as it is in Heaven.

Thank you for staying true to the Faith and for giving pilgrims and visitors like me the wonderful experience of such reverence during Mass. I had tears of joy and awe while attending Mass there last September with my family. The reverence of the priest and the altar server and the music too. Even my young children were inspired and impressed. My husband who is a convert to Catholicism was very much impressed and we were all asking WHY don't we get this kind of experience of Mass in Los Angeles? Thank you for doing what you do. I praise God who so mercifully and lovingly led us to your parish that evening for Holy Mass. It was a wonderful experience.

This very modest donation is made after watching Michael VORIS. As a non practicing Acolyte (because of Abuses in my parish church). I support your Parish 100% and when I have more to spare I will.. God Bless & Protect you all. Hank
