Evan's Art Photoshoot "This is Me"

Donation protected
Hey guys!

My name is Evan. I am a 20 year old model and artist. My dream is to get a degree in Integrated Design at Parsons School of Design in New York City. For my application I am creating and producing a personal art photo shoot that I have been thinking about for a long time. Unlike the kind of modeling I'm known for, this shoot will share aspects of my life story, such as chronic illness, depression, bullying, being gay, and much more.

I want this project to show what mental scars would look like if they were on the surface of the body. I am constantly misjudged just because of my looks. People always assume that just because I'm a model, I haven't ever struggled in my life, and they are completely blown away when they hear my story. I want to share this story with the world, not only to share my own struggles but to help others who are also struggling to feel like they are not so alone.

So often we "judge a book by its cover." I'd like this project to encourage people to think before making assumptions about another's life based only on appearances. I also hope to do my part to end the stigma of mental illness. And finally I want this piece to raise awareness for the trauma and struggles endured by adolescents faced with bullying and oppression because of their sexuality and/or gender.

My vision for this project is very large. I'm hoping to create a series of lifesize photo prints on aluminum sheets, which would meet the high quality standards needed to show in a gallary. In addition to printing costs, I also need to pay for studio space, props, and the makeup artist. The estimated production costs are $2,800. We are scheduled to shoot on January 9th, so I am hoping to raise these funds by then.

A project of the scale I am imagining requires a lot of resources. Any finiancial support you can give would mean so much to me. Every little bit helps, even just a few dollars. However for those donating more than $50 I would like to offer a thank you gift of an original painting or poster print of my art! I will be contacting those donors directly after their donation is recieved.

Thank you for taking the time to read my GoFundMe campaign! Any support financially or emotionally means so much to me and I can't thank you enough. Now, keep your eyes open and your fingers crossed for a gallery showing coming soon!

Thank you again!

Evan
