My name is Ben Fritzsching, and this campaign is to help raise funds for my wife, Krystal, to combat the autoimmune disease known as Lupus SLE. In 2013, she was diagnosed with the disease, and while it has usually been able to be kept under control, recent flare ups have proven to be detrimental to her, and have very nearly caused me to lose her.
Any funds brought in will be used to cover doctor visits, hospital visits, tests that have to be conducted, prescription costs, and to cover fuel costs for all the visits.
On November 6th, she was diagnosed with ALC (altered level of conscousness), so she is now unable to drive herself anywhere too far off for fear that she'll get lost. She experiences brain fog on a daily basis. It's like she's in a constant state of the "why'd I come in here, again?" feeling we all get every once in a while. With the proper treatments, this can probably be brought under control, but we have to be able to get her under the care of the correct doctors.
Some of the doctors she needs to see are a neurologist, ophthalmologist, and a rheumatologist, and that's just for starters. Depending on what those find will determine what other doctors will need to be seen.
We need to get her into these doctors just as soon as possible. I don't know what more to say other than we need help. We aren't proud that we need to ask, but we realize it's ok to admit it. With no insurance to cover anything, and with our personal funds almost totally depleted, we've run up against a wall. We've been able to take some steps that will help in the future, but the present is crashing down on us at the moment. I can't stand the thought of losing her to something that can be managed, and I feel powerless because I'm unable to do more myself. If you are able to help, it will be eternally appreciated. Donations of any amount, or even just sharing this, will mean the world to us.
