Memorial Service for Krista Clayton

We are all completely at a loss for words in the face of the tragic accident which occurred this Christmas Eve, when Krista and four of her friends going for a short flight to Key West crashed shortly after leaving the runway.

She is someone who touched so, so many people every single day---family, friends, students, neighbors alike---and all on top of being a spectacular mother who dedicated every one of her spare seconds to her two beautiful daughters, Lila and Lucy. With her warmth, kindness, generosity, and strength of spirit she managed to put her all into everything she did, without falter, and always with a big smile that none of us will ever forget. It feels completely unreal that a presence like hers would be gone from this earth so suddenly and we are truly heartbroken.

Because she had so many loved ones in so many places---in Florida, Rhode Island and around the world---this GoFundMe is to cover costs of  a memorial service in Rhode Island, and transportation for family members traveling  for such, so that all family and friends can join together and remember Krista in all her love and light.
We thank everyone who has reached out so far for their outpouring of support and love at this difficult time and you are all with us in our thoughts and prayers.

With love,
The Clayton Family and friends

Hi everyone,

I just wanted to say thank you again to everyone who has donated. It means more than you can imagine to see such an outpouring of love and support at this time, and we are now putting together the details of a service that I think will be just how Krista would have wanted it. For the Rhode Island service, we have planned a mass at St. Vincent De Paul in Westerly, Rhode Island on Saturday, January 13th, followed by a gathering at The Towers in Narragansett from 12 to 4 p.m. in which we will honor Krista with a celebration of her life. All are welcome to attend either or both parts of the service.

I also really appreciate those of you who sent along words of condolence and memories of Krista along with your donations, or those who have reached out to me or my family through other means. Though it's been really tough on everyone I do feel that being able to connect coming together has been therapeutic on this first part of what I know will be a long journey. We all know how good Krista was at bringing people together (to me, there was no one better at it), so we hope that those who knew Krista will join together in love to share our memories of her and the great spirit she had, and to recall how positively she has affected all of our lives.

For those planning to attend the service in Lakeland, Florida, you can find more details on Krista's tribute page, here: http://www.lakelandfuneralhome.com/tributes/Krista-Clayton

With love,

Bonnie

Hi everyone,

First of all, we want to say thank you so much to everyone who has donated so far---there has been a lot going on, as you can imagine, and we haven't yet reached out to everyone individually, but you We are all so grateful for the outpouring of love and support that had been shown so far in this heartbreaking time.

There has been a little confusion as to whether or not this posting is legitimate, which I understand completely. For anyone who doesn't know me, my name is Bonnie, and I'm one of Krista's sisters. I haven't had social media in years so my close friend, Hailey, made this listing for me. Aside from more logistical concerns, it is always nice to speak to anyone who knew and loved Krista and share your wonderful memories of her with each other (and certainly, everyone had many), so feel free to send me a message anytime.

The obituary/tribute to Krista has been posted online today, so please leave a message there if you would like. Also, we have not yet solidified the plans, but there are memorial services in the works in both Florida and Rhode Island. I will update here once I have more concrete details about both, but you can also check the obituary page as well for updates: http://www.lakelandfuneralhome.com/tributes/Krista-Clayton

Again, thank you all for your support and consolation at this time, and if you have any questions, do not hesitate to reach out. As Krista brought together many people in her time here on earth, I hope we can all get a little consolation and comfort by doing the same in this difficult period and beyond.

Happy holidays,

Bonnie
