Hi Friends and Family,
Some of you may know that I have an awesome sister whom is Deaf. Her name is Teresa Nash and her husband's name is Steve Nash. They have 3 beautiful children, Savannah, Trinity and the newest addition, Skylar. Skylar was born prematurely at just 34 weeks on January 15th weighing in a 5lbs 2 oz. He was a month and a few weeks early. The reason why I am trying to raise some extra money for them is that, Skylar has been fighting since he was born. His heart was not in very good shape, somehow one side of his heart was thicker than the other, aka hypertrophy. Skylar was flown from Monroe Louisianna hospital at the time he was born, to New Orleans hospital to be admitted into the NICU (neonatal intensive-care unit) for closer diagnostics. This was extremely upsetting for both Teresa and Steve. Not only does their newborn son have heart disease, but my sister had an emergency c-section and had to drive just 24 hours after from Monroe, LA to New Orleans, LA 4 hours away to see her son. Her and her husband had to leave their 2 other children behind with friends and family while they go to New Orleans. Imagaine being Deaf and never experiencing a c-section and being confused after you wake up from being under anesthesia and come to find that your son is fighting for his life... :( After they arrived in New Orleans, they met with a specialist and have learned that Skylar is having a hard time breathing since part of his heart is enlarged due to hypertrophy and a lot of fluid surrounds it and his lungs. Unfortunately, after finding out this bit of info, they are still unable to hold their newborn son... he also had a dilated kidney as well. Baby Skylar is stable, but he is still on a respirator and being watched very carefully day by day. Unfortunately, his right lung had collapsed just a few days ago, and so did his left lung today due to the excess fluid, but fortunately the nurse caught it and he was able to recover. Please keep baby Skylar in your prayers. He will be 1 month old next week. He is a strong little fighter and I ask all of my friends and family, if you are able to help donate to my sister Teresa Nash, her husband Steve, and her 3 beautiful children to help with their expenses of travel, food and heart ache through this difficult time, I will forever be grateful. Anything is greatly appreciated, but most importantly please keep Skylar in your prayers.
