Medical Bills for Cancer Treatment
I humbly request whatever financial assistance you may be able to offer to help me cover the $100,000+plus in medical bills that are still coming in from all the diagnostic, physician, surgical, hospital, and pharmacy charges related to my unfortunate diagnsosis of Metastatic Papillary Thyroid Cancer this September. It has been an unwelcome trial and it has taken every ounce of courage I have had to get through it. It's still an uphill climb but hopefully next year will be easier. However, paying the medical bills leaves me nothing left over to meet all of my other regular monthly expenses. I am responsible for 20% of the final medical bills and I am asking for your help to meet just about 10%.
Believe me, I dislike asking for help publically or privately, but here I am, doing it. Please don't judge me.
Anything you can give me will be appreciated. Thank you and God bless.
If you prefer to donate offline and are not in my neighborhood, send to me at PO Box 5012 Charlottesville, VA 22905
I still have the good news from the standpoint of the cancer prognosis. Getting used to life after cancer has been very difficult as far as the psychological fallout and PTSD-like symptoms. No one tells you what it's REALLY going to be like. I have had to give up most of my social medial activity for a variety of reasons, therefore, you haven't heard from me in a while. I'm afraid that after this campaign is over, my social media presence will all but disappear.
Anyway.... I'm still $2500 away from my goal. Can we please knock this out sooner rather than later? There have to be some people out there who can help with large or small donations. I would be grateful. As you can see in the small profile picture, I look pretty good for 5 months post surgery. The scar is still there but cleverly hidden in the folds of my neck. Nerve pain is STILL an issue, and now I have to seek therapy to deal with the PTSD stuff, like I mentioned earlier. I am grateful for your support -- in any form you give it. Good bless.
I am trying to get this GFM goal nailed down within the next two months so I can really move on. All my treatments are done and I'm adjusting to being permanently hypothyroid and stabilizing with synthetic thyroid medication.
Nerve pain management still continues to be a challenge, but I pray that all nerves will recover, including the paralyzed vocal cord nerve.
As I said, any amount over my goal, I will pledge to another cancer fighter. I think that would be really cool, but I have to get to my goal.
I have already been encouraged that you would want me to reach my goal as well.
If you don't want to give money to this campaign, you could give gift cards, e.g: grocery, personal care, pet care, or home goods. I would credit those gifts toward my goal. I would just need to be smarter about my budgeting for the medical bills.
Whatever money I raise in excess of my goal, I will look for another GFM cancer patient who needs help.
Until then, keep giving! Merry Christmas and God bless you and your families!
