Today there was a freak accident involving my older brother, Lee Goggin. Our family was just starting off on vacation when we stopped in at the beach in St. Augustine, FL to let the kids burn some energy. Lee was building a tunnel in the sand when it collapsed on him. He has a heartbeat but he is not breathing on his own. The next 24 hours will be very critical for him and we need all the prayers we can get. Our God is a mighty God and we have faith. Please keep his wife, Courtney, and their 3 sweet children, Jace - 4 1/2, Colton 2 1/2 and Rylee 8 months, in your prayers along with his immediate family.

It's hard to believe that it has been a month since Lee's tragic accident. I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the concerned and caring people who have taken the time to read my brother's story and learn more about the amazing, godly life he lead. Your prayers, heart-felt words of encouragement, and generous donations mean so much to our family. You have touched our lives, and we thank God for you. Your donations have eased the difficult road ahead for Lee's family.

Due to Lee's kidney transplant in 2014, he did not qualify for life insurance. The donations you have given will allow Lee's wife, Courtney, and their three young children to, hopefully, keep some normalcy in their life with Courtney being able to stay home with the children. The money will also be used to help with the medical expenses Lee's family incurred from his accident on that tragic day.

We would love to send a personal thank you to each and everyone of you that have sent us kind and encouraging comments and made a financial donation. However, at this time, we hope you can accept this written thank you on behalf of all our family.

It is with great sorrow and sadness that I write this. My precious, big brother is with Jesus. Our hearts are shattered, but we don't grieve without hope. Lee Goggin is where he has prepared to be, in heaven.

Lee lived life to the fullest and never met a stranger. As many of you know, Lee went through many trials in his life; both Lee and his brother, Aaron, have a condition called Ectodermal Dysplasia that affects their sweat glands, hair growth and teeth. Despite being different than others and not being able to sweat that never kept him down. He continued to follow the Lord showing everyone that despite how God has made you that God will use you if you only allow him. Our mom, Karen, received a heart transplant in 1998 and lived an additional 4 years. She was our biggest fan and such a follower of Christ. We have always strived to be half the Godly woman she was. She too never met a stranger. In 2002 she passed away due to a massive stroke and donated what organs she could to give hope and life to others. Lee was diagnosed with kidney disease that lead to a kidney transplant in 2014 that was donated by his brother, Aaron. Because of Lee's kidney transplant, he did not qualify for life insurance. He was the primary source of income for his family of five. Lee wanted to give as much of himself to others as he could. He will be following, once again, in our mom's footsteps by donating as many organs as possible to bring hope to other families.

Having accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior, he is in heaven and we'll see him again someday. He is reunited with our sweet mom and many other wonderful family members. We praise the Lord for that assurance. Please pray for our family! Though it's difficult to see or feel right now, we know in our hearts that God has a plan for good in all of this, as tragic as it's been. We know He will provide everything we need in the days, weeks, and months to come. He is our Rock and Hope. Thank you for the prayers, calls, texts, and visits. They have sustained us these past couple of days, and we're so grateful. Our hearts ache greatly, but Heaven just got so much sweeter than it already was.

I believe in the sun, even when it's not shining. I believe in love, even when I can not feel it. I believe in God, even when he is silent.

If we live, we live for the Lord; and if we die, we die for the Lord. So if we live or die we belong to the Lord. Romans 14:8

For this God is our God for ever and ever; he will be our guide even to the end. Psalms 48:14

For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal left through Jesus Christ our Lord. Romans 6:23

We have created an email that we would love for people to send pictures and stories so we can create a book about the life Lee lived. The email is: leegogginslegacy@gmail.com.
