Kingsburg Fire Relief Fund

Donation protected

In the early morning hours of October 15, 2016, the City of Kingsburg had a devastating fire in our downtown area. The historic Stone Hotel caught fire in the 2nd story of the building from a cause that is still unknown. The first floor housed several local businesses that we all frequent and these businesses suffered extreme damage from smoke and water which has now rendered the building uninhabitable. Unfortunately, some of these tenants did not have fire insurance to cover their losses. The next-door Village Mall tenants also suffered water damage and have been closed since the fire.

Many people have asked how they can help these businesses get back on their feet? In the coming weeks, these businesses will need to purchase all new equipment, furniture, products and other necessities to once again be successful. These funds will also help them with any costs associated with moving into a new building and starting up again. Some are still evaluating and sorting out their next steps while others are ready to move on.

If any of the employees need assistance while they are looking for work or waiting for the insurance money to come in, these funds will help them and their families during this difficult time. The greatest need is for the smaller businessess and independent contractors who lease space inside. With these funds, we can get them moved into another location and back to working with their clients in a short period of time.

Any donation will be much appreciated by these businesses! In the spirit of our wonderful small town, we need to help these fire victims. Let's all pitch in to show them how much we care and we want to see them open again in Kingsburg!

**All funds will be dispersed by a committee made up of the fire victims. There will be an accounting of all monies collected as well as a record of who receives funds from this account. **
