Vegan public elementary school
KING Charter Schools was created by a mom who is passionate about her child's education and future. Upon having the realization that she was not going to find exactly what she was looking for in a perfect school for her daughter, then 3 years old, she decided she would have to make her own school. Once deciding this, her life changed forever and her drive and passion set her into a year and a half long journey until the application to start a charter school was submitted this past February. She met other people along the way who are just as passionate about the education and future of children-whether they have any or not. Since submitting the application in February, the school is waiting to hear whether it has been approved or denied to move forward. In order to secure approval, the school needs to raise enough money to be able to open its first location in August of 2020.
Maria Solanki is the name of the mother who made that decision that altered the hopeful future of public schooling. It was a no brainer to her that KING would need to be a charter school (a school that is public and funded locally) so that every child has the option to receive a great education. Maria lives on the west coast of Florida where the options for her daughter for schools is either a very expensive private school for a great education or a poor performing public school.
KING needs $125,000 in order to build the school that will be not only tuition free, but will also provide the community with opportunities that usually would not be offered for free. Private schools are out of reach for most families which eliminates so many options for a majority of children. KING believes that every child should have the option to have a great and diverse education. Students at KING Charter will become trilingual and learn sustainability through learning about the environment, plant-based nutrition classes and meals, and more. KING Charter Schools has big plans to start many locations and offer these types of programs to students all over the US and eventually all over the world. However, we have to start somewhere in order to do so, so our first location will open its doors in Pinellas County, Florida (near Tampa.) By supporting and helping us build our first location, you are supporting the possibility of expanding our schools all over the world to change many students lives and the future.
Any donation will help KING reach its goals in order to build the school, but we have a few items to offer to ensure that you will be honored for your generosity for years to come! If you would like one of these items, please donate the correct amount and claim the item in the message with your donation.

About the School
In addition to state requirements, KING Charter Schools will have two major focuses: a trilingual immersion program and sustainability. Both of these programs will guide children in a diverse and well-rounded education experience that will stay with them for the rest of their lives. By helping us build this school, you will be improving the future of our world by allowing our children to become well-cultured and rounded leaders.
Trilingual Immersion Program
Free of tuition, students will be immersed in a trilingual immersion program-lessons will be taught in English, Mandarin, and Spanish. By being immersed into different languages and cultures, students will receive a unique education that will turn them into respectable, global citizens. It has been proven that learning other languages improves brain functionality and is more appealing to colleges and future employers.
While at school, students will follow a vegan, or plant-based, diet and will take plant-based nutrition classes to inform them on how to live a healthy life and to set them up for good habits that will last their whole life. This diet has been proven to have many benefits for health, including the mind, and the environment. Obesity rates are constantly growing and the high fat content in animals is a large contributor to obesity, heart problems, issues sleeping, high cholesterol and high blood pressure. A plant-based diet not only can create weight loss, but it also is easier to maintain a healthy weight. With proper nutritionists to help build out our school menus, the students will by no means be lacking any nutrition. Plants hold all the nutrients we need to be energized and healthy. Plant-based diets also improve sleep and mood which improves a childs ability and willingness to learn. Paired with our trilingual immersion program, students will have very healthy minds that will help them learn the best to their abilities and get the scores they need to move forward into successful lives.
Plant-based diets have been proven to be a big savior when it comes to the environment. The animal agriculture industry contributes to a large majority of the earths population and burns through its resources. At the rate we are going through our resources and how we treat our planet, we need to think about what state we are leaving it in for our children, or their children even. What will be left? If we don't make a change now, it's scary to think of the answer to that question. As human beings, it is really hard to break habits that have been instilled in us our whole lives which is why it is important to teach our children when they are young and their brains are still "sponges" to new information. This will set them up with important habits for life that will help save the environment and make them better citizens. At KING, students will have the opportunity to help garden and learn to plant their own food and KING will be a sustainable building and use resources cautiously. Students will learn ways to help the environment in the classrooms and through the way the school runs. They will also learn about the importance of protecting the environment and being cautious of how we use resources, reuse, and recycle.
At KING, we believe that it is so important to teach children at a young age the benefits of a healthy diet and how to take care of the environment. It is easier to set habits at a young age than it is to break them when they are much older. It is also significantly more challenging to learn additional languages as we get older. KING wants to create opportunities for children to receive the best possible education and activate the best people they can be to provide them with promising futures, without breaking their parents bank and while including everyone. KING will not discriminate based on sex, race, financial status, etc. KING will offer a diverse learning environment that will give them the proper tools to become empowered citizens. Children are the future and if we instill the tools and information they need to improve the world at a young age, they will be able to truly make a difference.
