Kimberly Wesley Cancer Fund
My niece Kimberly Wesley is fighting melanoma cancer that has masticized throughout her body. Kim is mom to this precious little girl as well as ten other children. Kim worked hard to support her family until she became so sick that she no longer can work. I am hoping to raise enough money to make sure she doesn't lose her home or anything else deemed necessary to the livelihood of her family. Please help if you can. Any amount will help.+ Read More
Not so good news about Kim's leg yesterday.....It is not infection so they did her treatment then repeated dopler to see if Genesys missed a blood clot when I took her there last week. It is not a blood clot. It is a large mass on her knee :( She has to have an MRI next but insurance requires prior approval. After that a biopsy will be done. If it's cancer they'll do surgery and radiation. If it's a benign growth they'll do just surgery.
My name is Vicki Heckroth. I am Kimberly's aunt. All donations are deposited in Kimberly's dad, Glen Gronau's bank account and used to help pay expenses for Kimberly and her family. We thank you for your kindness at this difficult time
Just wanting to update everyone on Kim's condition as I haven't updated in a while. Since her discharge from the long hospital stay in July they were able to start her cancer treatment again. This time she is only receiving Opdivo but in stronger doses than before. Drs have informed us that she will need to be on Opdivo indefinitely...meaning for the rest of her life or until it stops working. There is a pill that she can be given if or when Opdivo no longer works. Due to having severe back pain she will be having an MRI of her spine this month to see if the cancer on her spine has gotten worse. Also since her last opdivo treatment she has another issue going on. She had her treatment on last Monday. On Tuesday her left leg started hurting and it has progressively gotten worse. I ended up taking her to the clinic a couple of nites ago. She was sent to ER to rule out a blood clot. There was no blood clot but her leg was quite swollen and hard for her to walk. They suspected lymphedema. Sent her home to follow up with her doctor. Since then her leg is twice the size of her other leg. Antibiotics were added yesterday because now it is not just swollen but it is very red and warm too so now they are suspecting cellulitis. She has appt today to see doctor again and is hoping not to be hospitalized. If no improvement today when she sees Dr he said he will have to send her for and MRI of leg to be sure cancer hasn't spread to leg. I will continue to update as we get answers to this issue and results from all of her MRI's and PET scans. Once again Glen and I would like to thank everyone for your calls, texts, prayers and donations in behalf of Kim and her family. Please know she appreciates all of the support from all of you and so do we.
I want to day Thank you to all of our family and friends who have stepped up to the plate for my niece Kim and her family. Kims ordeal with this cancer is far crom over. It seems like for every step forward there have been three steps back. Donations are still always welcome as bills are really starting to pile up but even more so are the prayers. I am a firm believer in the power of prayer. We need a miracle. Her kids need her as do all of us. Kim is my firstbone niece. The oldedt child to my sister Terrie. Kim has sprnt her entire life not just raiding her children but also always caring and helping others. She would always give her last dollar to you if she felt you needed it. Thank you all so much for the supportand kindness you have given to our family.
