Crater Creations Summit Kilimanjaro
Crater Creations is a non-profit organization that uses a co-creation-centered approach to work together with the Kisharu Maasai community in Kenya on various sustainability projects and for youth development initiatives.
In January of 2019, a group of about 12 people will summit Mt. Kilimanjaro, Africa's highest peak, in order to raise funds for the Kisharu community. This trip also works to increase awareness of the problems the community is facing as well as giving donors a chance to interact with local community members (in the spirit of co-creation and global stewardship).
The money raised in this campaign will be used primarily to fund a new geothermal water condensation system for the Kisharu people. Any additional funds will be used to partially offset permit costs for the hike up Kilimanjaro and my airfare from Seoul to Nairobi.
This type of water system can provide up to 420 liters of clean water every day to the community, integral for daily agriculture and other activities. This year's wet season marked the end of a 3-year drought cycle which presented various challenges for new projects and progress. Additional water systems will relieve some of the stress from relying on one or two systems and sources of fresh water.
This Kilimanjaro trip will take place over 2 weeks, from January 6, 2019 to January 18, 2019. Full funds need to be deposited by December 2018.
The individual fundraising requirement is $1400 and the climbing fee is $2500 per person. I am hoping to raise at least $1400, with $1000 being my initial goal to donate toward the water system projects.
I would love to participate with this trip and interact with the Kisharu community, but if my fundraising goal is not met, I will donate all of the funds directly to Crater Creations and the Kisharu Community.

A donation of any amount will greatly benefit this campaign and future projects within the Kisharu community.
Have a blessed day,
