Collaboratory Prep School is an up and coming school for kids in kindergarten through second grade. This
Charter school is in East Tampa located in the poorest zip code in all of Tampa and its mission is to provide a high-quality academic alternative to the population of poor kids in Tampa. Through Collaboratory Prep these children will receive an education that a privileged child would normally get. It will be a STEAM-based curriculum, Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math emphasizing problem-solving and math skills. It will also be a single gender classroom environment.
Our mission is, "To develop learners' full and unique potential, preparing them for high school, college and career by delivering a world-class education that fosters academic excellence, critical thinking, creativity, and a passion for learning through collaboration and hands-on study."
This coming July 2017, board member Trey Traviesa and his two daughters, Alexa and Amelia, are traveling to Tanzania, Africa to climb and summit Mount Kilimanjaro. The 19,341-foot mountain hike will be a journey dedicated to the children of Collaboratory Prep, along with your help. Every 1,000foot we reach, we ask for a donation of any amount as we climb up the mountain. The proceeds will go to the Collaboratory Prep School and truly focus on giving less fortunate children an education and a strong future.
