Kids for Africa Uganda

"Just like the children in this video, I was once a child in Uganda who saw many of my friends die from drugs and others drop out of school because of peer pressure. On a daily basis, I saw the crime, and how vulnerable were the families and children who lived in the slums. Because of all these experiences, in 2009, I started Kids For Africa - Uganda to improve the lives of our youth who were living in poverty. And over the past seven years, I have reached out and helped over 820 children with various educational opportunities, drug awareness programs and sports activities. Also, I provided a safe haven for eight children to live with me who had been abandoned and were left homeless. We have now established the KFA Sports Academy to develop and provide a more comprehensive sports program along with various educational and drug awareness projects. The Academy's mission is to empower and transform the lives of Uganda's youth through the power of sports."

We need your support in helping the KFA Sports Academy grow and serve more children and youth in Uganda. This Academy will be offering soccer clinics and tournaments, educational classes, drug awareness programs and other community service projects. In the seven short years since its founding, KIDS FOR AFRICA SPORTS ACADEMY UGANDA has played a major role in the transformation of lives of slum, vulnerable and less privileged children from communities with too many unproductive, unsupervised children with too much time to get into anti-social behaviors of addiction, drugs, theft and indiscipline and immorality. Therefore we are creating and providing these youth with valuable structured programs.

Therefore the organization has reached an extent where it would like to build up a very big center or village and academy where children can be accommodated and have a safe place to where they can be taught cultural ethnics, morals, promote their social skills, talents and also act as an orphanage for the both the abandoned and orphaned children who lost their parents as result of HIV/AIDS.

In the future, we hope to build a center or village and academy. Our priority is to support the organization in the purchase of ten (10) acres of land. This land will be used to set up an orphanage , sports complex where children’s can have an opportunity to play and  promote their talents in the sports arena, schools both primary and secondary to which will  provide a chance for  the marginalized and less privileged children to  a right for education as proposed by the Sustainable development Goals. Construct a hospital clinic where by health services can be extended to the nearby community and village members and also promote agriculture where farming and crop gardening can be a key of economic sustainable development because Uganda is well known for agriculture as its economic back born.

THE ORGANIZATION OVERVIEW

In  2009,  KIDS FOR AFRICA SPORTS ACADEMY UGANDA  was established as a  not-for profit organization with the purpose of reaching out to  vulnerable, less privileged and slum children in the poverty strictly Ghettos and slums of  Uganda  and providing a safe haven where children participate in  competitive  sports and academic tutoring that bring  up social change and transformation , divert them from anti-social behaviors and also promote the physical, educational and life skills necessary to prepare and empower them for leadership in their communities and success in their personal lives.

It wasn’t too many years ago that the organization earned its reputation of creating change in many lives of the children who were drove in the fields of no hope. Just as other ghetto slums and minority urban neighborhoods, we heard too much about crime, substance abuse, obesity and academic failure. But all that is changing, and the organization believes that group sports promotes cooperation, improves health, transforms and develops self-confidence,

VISION STATEMENT

We envision communities in Uganda that through creating opportunities and expanding capabilities for vulnerable children to play competitive sports will improve the physical, pro-activeness and social wellbeing of children in our communities.
