Emily's funeral fund

Donation protected
After 10 long hard months of battling stage 4 neuroblastoma cancer, our sweet Emily passed away April 10, 2019 at 12:10 am, she was just 5 years old. She is now free of pain and with the Lord.

We have a little bit of money but not enough for her to have a nice well deserved funeral service, so we are asking for the last time for any donations that you can give. We were unable to obtain life insurance for her due to her already being diagnosed with stage 4 neuroblastoma cancer. Anything will help, prayers are needed as well. If you can't donate, then please share this post.

Around Memorial Day of this year my daughter Emily Lynn, who is 4 years old started complaining of knee and leg pain. Within the next couple of days she was laid out on the couch uninterested in playing and talking with friends and began not being interested in food.  I took her to her pediatrician a couple days later to get her knee checked out. Blood work was done and an xray of her knee, and it showed some inflammation in the knee and blood work came back that her A&A was not right so we were sent to a pediatric orthopedic doctor and had an appointment for rheumatology. the orthopedic doctor thought that she could possibly have juvenile arthritis. So we waited for the rheumatologist appointment. During the wait for the appt. Emily's condition was getting worse, she was not even interested in ice cream or fruit some of her favorite things, all she wanted and could do was sleep and she became unmobile and could no longer walk without collapsing. We were very worried and thought wow arthritis can really put a kid down literally. On June 26th after seeing the doctor and being sent across the street to emergency at the Detroit Children's Hospital we got the biggest bomb dropped on us... Emily had CANCER! I was in shock and absolutely devastated and heartbroken. I just stood there with tears flying down my face just listening to the team of doctors explain to me that they were thinking she had Leukemia or Lymphoma because her blood was nothing but toxic. In the next couple of days and being admitted to Children's and having more blood work,Blood transfusions, chest xray, ultra sound, Bone marrow surgery taken samples and a CT Scan. The team of doctors had a diagnosis for us, Emily had Neuroblastoma Cancer and she had a large tumor in the center of her chest and another large tumor on her left abdomen and to top it off cancer tumors all over in her bone marrow. Yesterday June 28th, Emily went back to surgery to have a biopsy of the tumor in her abdomen and to have a port inserted under her skin for chemo could begin. Early this morning June 29th, she was put back under for the 3rd day in a row to have a MRI done of her brain. We do not have those results yet since she just came out about an hour ago, but we are praying for the best. My little girl is laying in a hospital bed with incisions and iv's in both arms and now a port in her chest. She can't even hardly move she is in soo much pain, they just keep switching between Tylenol (She keeps having fevers that are around 105) and morphine. I can hardly even see while trying to type this I am soo upset and can't understand why this is happening to my little girl, she is only 4 years old and her long journey to hopefully recovery has just begun. I have no idea how we will get through this, I just keep thinking no way, no way she WILL get through this!

A little bit about our family~
In our home in Clarkston Michigan, Emily lives with me (her mother, my name is Jennifer) her father Patrick, her older sister Lilly who is 10 and their little sister Lucy who is 1 and a half, and our little doggie Ruby. We are a very close family that loves to go and do everything together, our children are our world. I am a stay at home mom and Patrick is a very hard working man. We live pay check to pay check and are not sure with all the unpaid time Patrick has already taken off, and how we will afford our bills and weekly groceries and expenses. Right now we are switching out with each other and driving back and fourth to Detroit from Clarkston which is about an hour drive with traffic, we have already spent a few hundred $ on gas alone. So in turn I am asking for donations to help with expenses and bills, I'm not even sure how we will pay for rent for July. Emily does have heath insurance but I highly doubt they are going to cover all this and she hasn't even stated chemo yet, and also asking for prayers and good thoughts for our family. This has affected and devastated EVERYONE in our family. If you can not donate I just ask for prayers please and lots of them. This is going to be a very long journey for all of us.
Thank you for taking the time to read our story and have a blessed day.
