The Munson Family Brain Cancer KICK IT OUT Campaign!

If you have ever met the Munson family, then you know how great they are.  This family is absolutely full of life, involved in every aspect of the community, kind, generous, and joyful. It consists of Eric and Micki and their children: Matt, Abby, Zoe, Luke, and Josh.

As you may not know, Eric has been in a battle against brain cancer since late last year. Eric had initial surgery to remove the tumor, which grew back almost immediately, and now is undergoing constant chemo and other measures to hinder the growth of the tumor.

To combat the cancer, Eric developed his “Four-Circle Defeat Glioblastoma Strategy” consisting of:  Prayer & Spirituality, Visualization & Positive Pro-Activity, Traditional Treatments, and Alternative Treatments & Activities.

Cancer feeds off stress as much as sugar, carbs and other stuff. As part of his fight, Eric is very focused on learning how to handle his emotions to eliminate stress. The reality is that financial pressures are major stress contributors.  Eric needs to focus on overcoming this disease and not about how to pay his bills. The Munson’s have pulled out all the stops in their fight.  They are selling as many assets as possible to raise money on their own.  They need our help!

This Go Fund Me will go 100% to the Munsons and all donations will be deposited directly into their checking account.  If you desire to help financially, this donation site makes it convenient to do so.  Our goal is to reach $25,000 in donations.

Whether or not you can contribute financially, please say a prayer for Eric and his family.

Thank you.

Sadly, Eric passed away at 5:50 PM Eastern on Saturday, June 22, 2019.

Our hearts go out to his wife, Micki, 5 children (Matt, Abby, Zoe, Luke, and Josh), his parents (Wayne and Cathy), and his siblings (Amy and Brian) as well as all of his other extended family and friends.

Thank you again to everyone for their prayers and donations. Many times since this Go Fund Me page was created, Eric mentioned how comforting it was to not have to worry about their financial situation. Micki was forced to stop working to provide full time support for Eric and the kids so the donations and other kind acts of support are critical. It's heartening to think that Eric was able to focus his attention on his family in his final months and not paying the bills.

Our attention remains on Eric's family and helping them move forward. Eric's courage and positive attitude reminds us how precious life is.

It has been 9 months since I last updated this site. During that time, Eric continued to fight his cancer, live life, and enjoy time with family and friends. Unfortunately, he took a turn for the worse in early June and was admitted into the hospital. As of last Wednesday, June 19, Eric went home under hospice care. They had a beautiful candlelight vigil that night outside his bedroom. His situation is dire. Prayers are needed for him and his family.

People have generously donated to the Munsons all this time which is why the site has remained active and far surpassed our original goal. And, now, given the circumstances, we have increased the goal to $45,000 to see if we can continue to provide financial support for the Munsons. All donations go directly to their bank account by the next day so they feel the impact of your generosity immediately.

Thank you.

Today is a big day in that our goal of raising $25,000 for Eric and Micki was achieved. I had no idea when I picked that target if it was reasonable. Every time I thought the effort was losing steam, it would gain momentum again. Thank you to everyone who helped the Munsons either financially, through acts of kindness, or in prayer. In case you don’t know how Go Fund Me works, Eric was able to set up direct deposits to his bank so he’s been receiving multiple deposits each day to his bank account which means the Munsons have been able to use your donations immediately.

At this point, I will no longer proactively push the campaign but we will leave it open for any who still desire to donate to the Munsons. Unfortunately, the fight against cancer will go on for a long time and they will need continued help until Eric has defeated it and returned to 100%. Thanks again everyone for your generosity and prayers.

Happy Saturday to everyone! We have surpassed the 90% milestone on our goal to raise $25,000 for Eric and Micki Munson. To date, 193 individuals/families have contributed $22,860. It's fun to witness the generosity of so many folks. Also, it's a credit to the character of Eric and Micki that they have impacted so many people in a positive manner. Let's see if we can push this campaign over the finish line! Please continue to share and comment to keep the awareness of their situation high on people's radar screens. And, of course, please keep them in your prayers.
