Hi my name is Kerry I have a progressive muscle wasting condition called FHL1 Gene mutation a form of Muscular Dystrophy.
I generally don't let my disability stop me & will always have a smile on my face no matter what, I've never really classed myself as 'disabled', (as crazy as that sounds rolling around in a powered wheelchair) when in reality, I'm very much depend on my (amazing) husband for absolutely everything.
Having a disease where the old I get the weaker my muscles become, trying to Keep as much independence as I can has become harder, my arms are in need of a little extra help. So when I was told about a piece of equipment called a Neater arm support , I couldn't believe what my arms where doing, It is essentially a robotic support for my arm that will allow me to do some of the things i haven't done in years like scratching my own nose I can't explain how amazing that felt, even down to moving my arms together that hasn't happened in years, these arm supports where allowing me to do some of the things that 'normal' people take for granted.
Unfortunately this amazing piece of equipment costs £4000 and not available on the NHS.
I would be eternally grateful for absolutely any donation, no matter how big or small to help me get this life changing bit of equipment.
