Kennya & Family Recovery Fund

Yesterday, November 23 at 3:40pm our amazing and relentlessly kind family member, Kennya Gonzalez was in a very severe car accident. She was on her way to her boyfriend's family's house for Thanksgiving when she was hit head-on by a reckless driver. Words fall short to express our grief, sadness, and anger.

She was rushed to Lee Memorial where doctors immediately began surgery to stop her internal bleeding. She suffered life threatening internal injuries, broken bones throughout her entire body, and is going to require many more surgeries.
As of Friday, November 24 at 1:08pm Kennya's brain is swollen and she isn't responding as we'd hoped. We're waiting for swelling to subside to take the next step. The doctors' report this morning was not optimistic, but we are praying and hoping for a miracle.

We love Kennya so much, and all of us would love your help. Her immediate family, like her mother and siblings, are in Venezuela and are expediantely figuring out how to come to the U.S. Unfortunately, some members although they'd love to be present can't because of visa difficulties.

For those who don't know Kennya: she is an astounding individual with an enormous heart, a steadfast love for Christ and life of promise ahead of her. She has overcome an innumerable amount of difficulties, small and large. Her resilience to adversity is an encouragement to all those who come in contact with her. Her smile contagious.

My name is Jesús Núñez. I'm Kennya's cousin. This page is run by me and my sister Gaby. We live in Fort Myers and Cape Coral, FL. When Kennya first came to the U.S. she lived with our family for a year and she became like a sister to us.

Funds will be used for medical and legal expenses. Also to pay for travel expenses for family. And funds will be dispersed as needs arise. Funds are currently being handled by myself and my mother. We are still waiting to know if there are any benefits from car insurance and how much expenses are since we are still in the hospital.
