Dream Of Attending Fashion School
Donation protected
Hello All, My name is Fredrick Ken White and I am a recent graduate of Hinds Community College with an Associates of Arts Degree and a Career Certificate in Clothing & Fashion Design.
At a young age, I was blessed to not only find my passion in life, but what God called me on this earth to do, Fashion Design. For about 4 years, I have been using my gift from God to create my brand, Ken White Collection, where I have had the opportunity to create an array of garments: prom dresses, birthday garments and even some men’s attire.
Before graduating high school, l made up my mind and decided that I wanted to take my gift to the next level. In May, I was accepted into not only the school of my dreams, but the #2 Fashion school in the United States, Fashion Institute of Technology, located in New York City. I would love to obtain proper training and take this God given talent to new heights and share it with the world. However, coming from a low-income family, I have fallen short with the cost of attendance which leaves me here, seeking your help to fulfill my dream.
I am scheduled to leave August 17 and orientation starts on August 21. I applied for financial aid and did received my maximum pell grant and I also applied for student loans but was sadly denied by each one I applied for. With the exception of my pell grant, I am still left with the balance of $10,000 for the coming semester. $50,000 is the total cost of attendance for my two-year program but I feel if I can just get the first year paid for I can work hard to assure a scholarship for the next year. Whether you are able to contribute $1 or $20, any thing will help and be greatly appreciated. Without the help of you guys I can not make this dream come true.
Thank you for your contribution and I pray many blessings come your way,
Ken White
