Hi my name is Felicia Fitzhugh and I am the manager at T&B Reptile Zone Aquatic Outlet in Yorktown Virginia. Many people may know of our store or know the owner Tony Lee, because we have traveled down through Mississippi and all the way up to Pennsylvania and Michigan vending at reptile expos.
Our biggest mission is caring for the animals and providing excellent customer service. We appreciate every single one of our customers; we also love how we have some people who just pop in to see Sarah (our Tortoise) and all our other animals here.
We have started this GoFundMe page because we have basically fallen into a large financial hole. Earlier in October our trailer was stolen that Tony had just purchased which had many of our pet store supplies to take care of our animals inside it and we used the trailer to travel to reptile shows with. It also held the display cases that we use at every reptile show that we vend at. Tony had to go out of pocket to replace some of the items in it and he wasn't able to replace everything that was stolen.
Also not to long ago, we found out that we had to replace our HVAC unit which cost A LOT of money. Our landlord wouldn’t help us with that because it isn't something she needed to have for the building. We needed a different type of HVAC system since we're a pet store. So purchasing that was a large amount of money; and on top of that, we have had some much slower sales months at the store than ever before.
We are the only pet store in York County and we do our best to cater to each of our customers. We are happy to be able to call our customers friends. We are here to educate the public and to help pet owners have happy healthy pets. There have been many times where Tony has bent over backwards to make people happy. He does all he can to have everyone leave the store smiling.
After many stressful days, Tony and I have now decided to reach out to the community and areas that we travel to help us stay open and keep going. Tony works 7 days a week, he has a family and he has loyal employees that are family to him.
I'm just trying to help him the best I can. Our plan is to revamp some of our animal sections in the store, and to have customer appreciation cookouts in the spring, summer and fall. We want to be here for our community and continue to help and educate everyone who comes into our doors for years to come.
