We'd love to stay in our 'home away from home', but we can't do it alone!
We are a group of creative artists in a shared studio space in Richmond, Victoria. Established as a not for profit association to provide inexpensive working space to Melbourne artists, we currently comprise a painter, jewellery designer/maker, costume maker, woodworker, comic book illustrator and a glass artist.
Like so many others in the Arts, we have been seriously affected by Covid 19 - add to this a landlord who, after two approaches by us on this matter, will not contemplate rental assistance and you begin to get an inkling of our dilemma!!
We currently have a studio space vacant, and the rest of us are covering the 'costs' of this vacant space as well as paying for our own monthly rent. Extensive advertising to fill this space has been fruitless - again, largely due to the impact of Covid 19. The 'poor, starving artist' description is very close to home. Artists are reluctant to take on a studio space in this time of unknowns.
Your support will provide some financial respite, allowing us to remain in our much loved premises until such time as we are able to let our vacant studio space, or find alternative accomodation.
Your contribution will be gratefully received by passionate artists all working to create works to make our world a more inspiring place.
