Keeping Calvin from Going Homeless

Donation protected
When I was 12 years old, I met a man named Calvin Martens through my dad at a little coffee place in Studio City.  We still know him and consider him a good, kind and honest man.  And an excellent craftsman.  He has worked in the neighborhood for 40 years.

On the night of the Northridge Earthquake, he was working in a store front doing repairs, after the quake hit, he smelled gas and turn off the gas mains of all the shops along Ventura Blvd - saving them from sure destruction.

He was, and still is, a handyman.  He can build anything.  He can fix anything.  He can even sew.  He is now 73 years old and has fallen on hard times due to illness.  He has cancer.  And no insurance.  He has spent his life savings to rid himself of this disease.

Now he is facing eviction.  And I want to help him.  I don't want him to be another statistic, living in his van on the street.

Please help me raise $10,000 to pay his rent for the next several months and dig him out of the hole he is in.  He does not deserve to fall on such hard times.

And if you or someone you know has a job for him - he really can do anything from plumbing to electrical to construction of all types.  Please let me know and I will put you in touch with him.  Thank you.
