Keegan's Story

Donation protected
This is Keegan. Last Saturday he was at a birthday party at Lake Weis swiming across the lake. He was there for no more than 10 minutes when he laccerated his foot in the water laying it completely open, then having to swim back across the lake for help from his family and friends of the family. He was rushed to the local hospital in Alabama they gave him 20 stitches and prescribed antibiotics. The following morning he began running a high fever, so they took him to their local ER. The already infected wound was reopened and flushed before being transported to Childrens Healthcare of Atlanta at Scottish Rite Hospital. Lab results came back and what they thought was E.coli and Celulitis was actually Aeromonas Hydrophila, a bacterial flesh eating disease. He has had one surgery to remove bacteria, infection, and dead skin as well as placing a sponge and Vac in his foot to continue to remove bacteria and infection, but he has several more to go. This thing is AGGRESSIVE and after his visit with the Orthopedic and Plastic surgeons the skin on the toes has gone purple and will now need to be removed, allong with having to put in another vac and sponge. They have surgeries scheduled every other day at this point and of course the parents are there. These guys need our help so that they can focus on healing and not have to worry about the financial side of things. This is so scary for them and theyre already exhausted. We will update as we know more so that you can follow the progress. Thank you so much for your prayers and support.
